Hints and tips for finances
So you're figuring out your finances... what next?

We know that student funding can be confusing at times, even more so during Clearing.

The most important thing for you to do is to change your Student Finance England application if you’ve changed university or course through Clearing. They’ll try and process your application in time for the start of term or will be able to make an initial assessment to make sure you have some money. If you haven’t already applied then you should do this now. Check all the guidance notes available on the Gov website and complete your application fully.

Here at ARU, all eligible students will receive £400 for each year you study with us through our Books Plus scheme. You can spend your Books Plus credit in John Smith’s, our on-campus bookshop, who stock a wide variety of course-related textbooks, as well as any course-specific equipment that you may need. Or why not spend some of your credit on Sport and Active Anglia memberships and at the Students’ Union. You can even buy an NUS card to save yourself even more money.

You should also get in touch with your Student Services team and they’ll be able to help you plan your budget and check you're receiving all the finance that you’re eligible for. You’ll also be able to register with the Employment Bureau and search for part-time jobs that will fit round your studies. You’ll also develop valuable employability skills and meet new people.

Above all, if you have any questions then please let us know! You can always find us on Twitter or calling us on 01245 686868.
