Dr Lyndsay Baines is working with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences’ to deliver a distance learning training programme in Global Health, to be rolled out to allied military personnel shortly. The collaboration with Lt. Col. Bradley Boetig, Director of Global Health US Airforce has included students of the MSc Military Veteran & Families Studies who have provided research support for the initiative giving them the added opportunity to take complimentary short courses at Uniformed Services University and study alongside allied military personnel in Washington DC. Dr Baines is Course Leader for our MSC Military Veteran & Families Studies, has a background in medical sociology and psychology and specialises in global health, well-being and the psychosocial aspects of civilian and military trauma and pain management. She’s presented at the Federal Asian Pacific Council, Orlando, Florida, with Capt. Glen Diehl, US Navy and Dr Kevin Riley, Chief of Staff, Center for Global Health Engagement making the case for veteran care to be included in the global health agenda.
