#OurPeople are regularly awarded grants for their important research. In line with very current issues, our Senior Law Lecturer, Dr Egle Dagilyte, has been awarded a grant for her project on the principle of solidarity in EU law, ‘Access to welfare benefits for EU/EEA Roma migrants in the UK after the 2014 benefit reforms’ (2015). Dr Egle’s research interests lie in the area of human rights, European Union (EU) constitutional and internal market law, in particular the relationship between the EU and Member States, EU citizenship, free movement of persons and migration. She is especially interested in solidarity and how it manifests itself as a fundamental value in European law, policy and social rights.
