Brett would like to spend Christmas in Japan one year (mainly to try their famous Christmas KFC dinner!) Did you know about #KentuckyForChristmas in Japan? We discovered some interesting things about the KFC Christmas phenomenon in Japan! Like... 1. An estimated 3.6 million Japanese families eat KFC during the Christmas season, according to the BBC. 2. Getting the KFC special Christmas dinner often requires ordering it weeks in advance! 3. Takeshi Okawara, the manager of the first KFC in the country, started the Christmas craze. It opened in 1970, when Okawara woke up at midnight and jotted down an idea that came to him in a dream: a “party barrel” to be sold on Christmas. And the rest is history!
