One of the most exciting #ARUplaces to visit has to be our Mumford Theatre. Located at the heart of our Cambridge campus, the Mumford Theatre frequently presents a range of professional touring, local community and student performances, as well as music events and a series of free lunchtime recitals. The theatre opened in 1970 as the "College Auditorium" when the institution was known as Cambridgeshire College of Arts and Technology (CCAT). When the Principal, Deryck Mumford, retired in 1977 the theatre was renamed in his honour at a gala performance of Menotti's opera 'The Consul'.
