Darius and Harry are off to Cannes Film Festival 2017
After running a film review competition with film students at ARU at the end of 2016, two third-year students, Darius Azadeh and Harry Jones, have been picked to join Take One’s team at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, just over a month away now, where they will help contribute to Take One’s coverage of the 70th Edition of this iconic film festival.
“We are delighted to be taking two of our best student writers to this glamorous event with us, after their sterling work at the Cambridge Film Festival and beyond,” said Rosy Hunt, Take One’s Editor.
The student’s lecturer in Film and Media at ARU, John White said:
“This is an opportunity for a couple of our students interested in film journalism to get a real hands-on experience of one of the key events in the film world calendar. First of all they have had to prove their worth as writers in order to get chosen for the trip and now they are going to have to prove their worth ‘in the field’ as journalists in order to get their pieces published by Take One.
The English and Media Department at Anglia Ruskin University was pleased to be able to work with Take One to sponsor this competition. It is obviously vitally important for us to try to support our students in their efforts to move beyond university into the real, everyday, cut-and-thrust world of journalism.”
