"Hi ππΌ βοΈ, My name is Victoria. I am 37 years old, and I am a second year Nurse Apprentice student. I work on a very busy, acute surgical cardiothoracic and Transplant ward, which recently has emerged with Thoracic and Tavi surgical wards due to the current pandemic. This enables us to still carry out critical surgeries and the care that coincides with the patient recovery. I adore my placement ward, as I am able to gain a wealth of knowledge surrounding cardiac surgery and all it entails, and follow the lung nd heart transplant patient journeys. It is on this ward, alongside the very knowledgeable nurses, specialist nurses, doctors and surgeons with other MDT members on the ward (physios, dietician, Chaplin, occupational therapists, pharmacists, in house social workers, and many more) that I am able to gain the opportunity to learn some of the specialist skill sets needed to complete a day as a nurse on this ward. Every day I feel grateful that I'm able to complete my nursing journey here. It is a very heavy ward, that requires a knowledgeable skill set as a nurse and health care assistant. I work 30+ hours a week as a health care assistant with additional learning opportunities to support my studies, and the other 7.5 hours a week is where I fit in the full-time degree lectures or student placement hours alongside additional study time in my own time (among life duties & running businesses). I am also a deputy student rep for our cohort @angliaruskin and I am part of the student advisory board for @elsevier_nurse_ed." -Victoria, @victorias_nursingjourney #ARUProud #ARUHeroes #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2021 #WeAreHere #WeAreTogether #StudentNurse #AngliaRuskin #ARUCambridge #MondayMotivation @RoyalPapworth

"Wow, my time at ARU is coming to an end, and what unforgettable experience it has been. I have experienced one of the most challenging years of my life, working full-time and studying full-time during a global pandemic. Despite the odds against me, I did it anyway. I SMASHED IT. MA in Human Resources Management & CIPD LEVEL 7 qualification π© ππ© ππ© ππ© ππ© ππ© π I can only hope we get to graduate this summer (if it is safe to do so) and I am so proud of my journey. Not only to be graduating from a masters degree but to be selected for a Vice Chancellor Leadership Award on top of my degree π is insane. I am sending all the virtual positive vibes to all my friends and family for their support, including Susie, my dog πΆ. To those of you that have hidden underlined health conditions and a disability. YOU GOT THIS; WE CAN DO THIS WE ARE WORTHY. π βοΈπ βοΈπ βοΈ" - @thisismaryj_ #ARUProud #AngliaRuskinUniversity #CFS #ClassOf2021 #MondayMotivation #HumanResourcesManagement
